Christopher C. Kaminsky
1993 Smithtown High School
Hero of Smithtown
Christopher C. Kaminsky is a 1993 Graduate of Smithtown High School. He is one of the winners of the "Hero of Smithtown" award given by the newly created Smithtown Alumni Association.
Christopher is an active member of the Special Forces unit in the United States Army. He has achieved the rank of Sergeant.
Sergeant Kaminsky has completed the following since graduating from Smithtown High School: Basic training, Personnel Management Advanced Individual Training, Airborne School, Ranger Program, U.S. Army Ranger School, Primary Leadership development course, Special Forces Assessment and Selection, Special Forces Non-commissioned Officer course and is currently enrolled in the Special Forces Qualifications Course.
In addition, Sergeant Kaminsky has several awards to his name. Among them are the Joint Service Commendation Medal, three Army Commendation medals, a joint Service Achievement medal and four Army achievement medals. In addition he has three Good Conduct medals, two Overseas Service ribbons, a NATO medal and a National Defense Service ribbon. He also has an NCO Professional Development Ribbon, a Ranger Tab, and a Parachutist badge.
While at Smithtown High School, Christopher was on the Wrestling team. Since he is on active duty, we were unable to interview him about his days at Smithtown High School, but his mother reports that he has many fond memories. Christopher is currently stationed in Fayetteville, North Carolina with his wife Ronnie and their son Stephen who is 3 years old. Congratulations to Christopher, a truly deserving winner of the "Hero of Smithtown" award for 2003.
