Smithtown Alumni Association : About the SAA

The Smithtown Alumni Association, Inc. (SAA), is a tax exempt corporation representing all graduating classes of the Smithtown School District High Schools Branch, Central, East and West.

We were organized and incorporated a few years ago at the request of the School District and developed a mission to:

• promote education by supporting programs that enhance the classroom education and extra-curricular activities in the high schools,
• create a scholarship fund for deserving students,

• recognize outstanding alumni through a Hall of Fame,
• facilitate reunions, formal and informal, among alumni, and provide a forum to enhance personal and professional communication among alumni.

We are committed to a strategic vision for the SAA that includes providing mentoring, scholarships, and sponsorships for current students in the district as well as planning events for alumni to get together and establishing a website.

The SAA awards college scholarships to graduating seniors, provides mentoring to students in New York State and national competitions through the District's School of Business, helps sponsor an etiquette dinner for students to learn proper etiquette and interact with business people, and maintains a Hall of Fame for recognition of alumni.
